What to Expect When You Hire Us

Give us a call today: 855-557-7878

Hiring a contractor often comes with questions about cost, timing, the service process, and what happens after the work is complete. Peaden is locally and family-owned, with leadership rooted in the Florida Panhandle and teams serving communities across the Gulf Coast. Here are answers to some of the most common questions homeowners ask before scheduling service.

How quickly can you schedule service?

We typically work to schedule service the same day. Our approach is same-day service and, when a full replacement or larger installation is needed, next-day repair or installation when scheduling and conditions allow.

In many cases, a Peaden Pro may be able to arrive within two to six hours of your call. If the issue can be repaired during that service visit, our goal is to complete the repair that day. During peak summer demand, schedules can fill quickly, so timing may vary based on availability and the scope of the work.

What factors most affect the cost of a repair or installation?

The cost of a repair or installation reflects much more than the price of the part. We use industry standards for the time required to complete different types of work, while also accounting for the experience and technical skill needed to diagnose the problem correctly, complete the repair, and verify that the system is operating as expected.

Pricing also reflects the resources required to provide professional home service, including trained technicians, stocked service vehicles, fuel, support teams, and the operational infrastructure that allows us to respond to customers throughout the communities we serve.

The scope of the problem matters most. A simple repair will generally cost less than a larger repair or full installation. We do not base pricing on the neighborhood you live in, and seasonal heat does not change the price of the same scope of work.

What should be included in a written estimate before work begins?

A written estimate should clearly explain the work being recommended, what each option includes, and the cost of each option before you make a decision.

At Peaden, we typically provide three paths when appropriate:

  • An immediate repair that addresses the current problem.
  • A broader repair that may address additional wear or extend the useful life of the system.
  • A replacement option when the condition and age of the equipment make replacement worth considering.

Not every situation requires all three options. Our Peaden Pros will explain the benefits and possible limitations of each appropriate choice so you can decide what makes sense for your home and circumstances.

What does a typical service call or diagnostic visit include?

A typical diagnostic visit includes a thorough evaluation of the system and a conversation about what you have been experiencing in your home.

For many HVAC service calls, the diagnostic process takes about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. During that time, a Peaden Pro will listen to your concerns, ask questions, inspect the system, and look beyond the most obvious symptom to identify what may actually be causing the problem.

Once the evaluation is complete, we will explain what we found and walk you through the appropriate repair or replacement options.

How do you confirm the total cost before starting a job?

We walk you through the full estimate before approved work begins. That includes the parts and work required, what to expect during the job, the anticipated time involved, and the total price for the agreed scope of work.

Once you approve that estimate, we complete that scope for the agreed price. If we missed a required part or component that should have been included in the original scope, we do not add that cost to the approved estimate afterward.

How do you prevent unexpected charges during a project?

Once you approve an estimate, we do not add charges for the agreed scope of work.

If a Peaden Pro notices a separate problem while completing the job—for example, a concern involving another system in the home—we may bring it to your attention and ask whether you would like it evaluated. That separate concern is not automatically added to the work you already approved.

The goal is to keep you informed while giving you control over any additional work you choose to consider.

What happens if something goes wrong after the job is completed?

If the same issue we addressed returns, contact Peaden so our team can review it and work to make it right. We stand behind the work we perform and want the system to operate as expected.

When a return visit is required for the same problem, we will come back to address it. We also typically involve a service manager or general manager when an issue requires another visit so you have direct communication with our team.

If a different or unrelated problem develops, we will evaluate that issue separately and explain any applicable cost before additional work is approved.

What does your workmanship guarantee cover?

Our workmanship commitment applies when the same issue we believed we corrected returns. In that situation, we come back, evaluate the problem, and work to correct it.

If the problem involves something different from the original repair, that new issue may require a separate estimate. Warranty and guarantee coverage can also vary by service, repair, installation, and manufacturer, so the applicable terms should always be reviewed for the specific work being performed.

How long does a typical appointment or installation take?

Repair and installation times depend on the scope of the work. A repair may take anywhere from a short visit to approximately three and a half hours, while many installations take roughly four to 10 hours.

A typical installation may take half a day to a full day. Larger projects can require more than one day. For example, replacing an HVAC system and completing new ductwork may involve separate days for the equipment installation and ductwork.

We will explain the expected timeline for your specific project before work begins.

When should a homeowner request emergency or same-day service?

Same-day service is most important when the problem is significantly affecting the comfort, safety, or function of the home.

For example, a home without air conditioning during Gulf Coast heat or a sewage backup affecting a bathroom may require a faster response than a minor plumbing issue that can reasonably be scheduled later.

Peaden members can request emergency service, and members are not charged a dispatch fee for those calls. Our teams also work extended hours when needed, but appointment availability depends on the day, location, demand, and type of service required.

Call Peaden to discuss the issue and confirm current availability.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept checks and credit cards. Cash is also accepted, although it is not our preferred payment method.

Financing options are also available through third-party financing partners for qualifying customers.

Do you offer financing for larger repairs or installations?

Yes. Peaden works with third-party financing partners that may provide financing options for qualifying customers.

We do not finance projects directly. Available programs may include different repayment structures designed to accommodate a range of project sizes and customer needs. Because financing programs, eligibility requirements, and terms can change, review the current financing information or talk with our team about the options available for your project.

How are your technicians trained and vetted before entering a home?

Our technicians go through background checks, technical skill validation, and ongoing training before advancing into more complex service work.

Peaden maintains working training labs where technicians can diagnose and repair equipment with simulated problems. Our career development process also allows newer team members to build experience progressively—from installation and maintenance work to service repairs and, eventually, more complex diagnostic situations.

Technicians advance as they demonstrate competency. This structured training helps ensure the Peaden Pro entering your home has the appropriate skills for the work they are assigned to perform.

How can homeowners verify a contractor is licensed and insured?

Homeowners should verify licensing through the appropriate state or local licensing agency and ask the contractor for information about the insurance coverage applicable to its work.

Peaden holds plumbing, electrical, and HVAC licenses in Florida and Alabama. Our license numbers are available through our website and displayed on our service vehicles, and customers can verify licensing status with the applicable state agencies.

Peaden also carries general liability, umbrella, workers' compensation, and automobile insurance coverage.

How can I confirm you service my area?

You can confirm whether Peaden serves your location through our website or by contacting our call center.

Because service availability can vary by location and service type, our team can confirm whether your address is within the appropriate service area before an appointment is scheduled.

How do labor and manufacturer warranties work after installation?

Warranty coverage varies by manufacturer, product, installation, and the specific warranty provided with the equipment.

When we evaluate a system, we first determine whether the affected component is under warranty. Some warranties cover the part only, while others may cover both parts and labor.

If only the part is covered, we will explain the labor cost before work begins. If both parts and labor are covered under the applicable warranty, we will explain how that coverage applies to the repair.

For products and installations we provide, our team is familiar with the applicable manufacturer warranty programs and will review the current coverage so you understand what applies to your system.

How should homeowners evaluate contractor reviews and reputation?

Look beyond the overall star rating and read what customers consistently say about the company.

Pay attention to comments about workmanship, communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and what happens when a job does not go exactly as planned. A contractor's willingness to return, communicate clearly, and work through a concern can be just as important as the initial service visit.

Peaden has built its reputation around professional service and dependable follow-through. As a locally and family-owned company, our owners and team members live in the communities we serve, and building long-term relationships with our neighbors matters to us.

How can customers contact your team after service if they need support?

Call our customer service team if you have a concern after service.

Peaden has team members who specifically help coordinate customer concerns. The appropriate service manager at the branch will be notified, review the situation with you, and help identify the right Peaden Pro to evaluate and address the issue.

Our responsibility does not end when the technician leaves your home. We want to understand the concern, determine the appropriate next step, and confirm that the issue has been addressed.

Peaden has been locally and family-owned for generations, and that local accountability continues to matter as the home-services industry changes. Our owners live in the Panhandle, our teams serve Gulf Coast communities every day, and our goal is to create customers for life through skilled service, clear communication, and dependable follow-through.
